The Association of Australian Medical Research Institutes (AAMRI) is the peak body for 37 independent, accredited research institutes. AAMRI institutes are a key component of Australia's health system. Our members are not-for-profit organisations, with both hospital and university affiliations. AAMRI members are recognised leaders in health and medical research and our research is cited almost twice as frequently as other research sectors.

Professor Garry Jennings has had an op-ed piece published in The Australain Higher Education Supplement regarding the importance of ensuring Australia's research sectors are able to work together to deliver better health outcomes.

Campaign to merge MRIs under fire

Professor Robert Graham was quoted in an article in The Australian Higher Education Supplement, calling for the Group of Eight (Go8) universities to back up its claims that smaller institutes were at risk of failure.

AAMRI Annual Dinner/ CSL Florey Medal 2009

The AAMRI Annual Dinner was held in Sydney on the 9th November. Thank you to all who attended and to those who helped make the night a success.
